My Astronomy equipment
Astrophotography requires some solid equipment.
I started very small with a couple hundred dollars smaller refractor and built my way up to a very basic entry level rig. Building it is as much fun as using it, if not more. I have only be doing imaging with a color camera. My next big challenge will be using a grey scale camera and Luminance- RGB filters, plus oxygen, hydrogen filter. Achieving good focus (even with a motorized focus) can be a challenge. Tracking either with a piggy-back refactor (like below) or an off-axis guider also is frustrating at time. |

This movie shows how well balanced and well built the mount is. From it's starting position the telescope spins many many times smoothly, quietly and end ups at his starting position,
